Working Holiday visas are a great way to see the country and to help fund those extra special activities like learning to surf or climbing the Harbour Bridge!

There are 2 visas to choose from - Working Holiday (Subclass 417) or the Work AND Holiday visa (Subclass 462).

~  Working Holiday Visa 417 - open to those who are single, 18 years to 30-35 years, have funds initially to start your holiday and are from the following countries:
  • Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Republic of Ireland, Italy,
  • Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport),
  • The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (including British National Overseas passport holders).

~  Work AND Holiday Visa 462 - open to those who are single, 18 years to 30 years, meet English and education requirements and are from these countries:  Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, PR China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia,  Israel,  Luxembourg,  Malaysia,  Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia,  Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Türkiye, Uruguay, United States of America and Vietnam.
Some countries have additional requirements like a government letter of support.  You will also require some funds to start your holiday.

The great thing about these visas is that they can be extended whilst you are in Australia or you can head home and then come back again in the future.
All you need to do is:
- still be within the required age bracket;
- complete a minimum period of 3 or 6 months specified work whilst on your visa;
- do that work in a designated regional area of Australia.

So what is "specified work"? And what is "regional"?
Basically this is work that is going to assist that regional area of the country.  It's time to head out of the big cities to explore and enjoy the GREAT wide areas of Australia to find something else more fulfilling.  This can be something like fishing and pearling in northern Western Australia; being a tour operator up on the Great Coral Reef; volunteering to take care of animals from bush fire affected areas; or the ever reliable work of fruit picking!

If you would like Great Australian Migration to check over your eligibility for a 2nd or 3rd visa, we offer a "work, time and location check" service for $500AUD.  Make sure you have your reference letters, pay slips or other proof in support of the work you have done and the location of where it was done.
